See before i, before we leave
Circumstance, grabbing hands
Guidin winds have been stamped
Off the track, in the mud
Just finished watching that movie. The music featured though out the entire movie are simply classics.
Watching the movie made me think of the future. What am i gonna do with my life? Actually, i havent really thought of that till now, at this point in life. Ive always believed that, life is as it is. What you have and will have is all up to fate. Now i realise that the above theory, is just half of it. The other half is fueled by one's dreams and thoughts and aspirations.
With music being such a big part of my life, as a musicians and a music listener, ive come to realise that i want to deal with music. Be in the music industry. As a musician, a producer, a sound engineer, a manager, a record label owner, a CD shop's assistant, or even own my own record store; just like how Rob does in the movie.
Vinyl are actually damn cool, come to think of it. To those who dunno what the hell is vinyls, here's a short excerpts from Wikipedia.A gramophone record (also phonograph record, or simply record) is an analogue sound recording medium consisting of a flat disc with an inscribed modulated spiral groove. Gramophone records were the primary technology used for personal music reproduction for most of the 20th century. They replaced the phonograph cylinder in the 1900s, and although they were supplanted in popularity in the late 1980s by digital media, they continue to be manufactured and sold as of 2006.
The terms LP record (LP or 33), 16 rpm record (16), 45 rpm record (45), and 78 rpm record (78) each refer to specific types of gramophone records. LPs, 45s, and the exceedingly rare, spoken word only, 16s are usually made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and hence may be referred to as vinyl records or simply vinyl.
Vinyls are cool. Old skool.
The Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour (1967) as a 33 ⅓ LP vinyl record
Oh well, the reality is, owning a record store wont do well in Singapore. The reasons are obvious.
Im off to bed. Shall ponder more and blog.
